The Legend Returns

In 1988, Tamiya introduced the iconic 1/10 R/C 4WD racing buggy Avante, which featured an innovative and highly sophisticated design. This machine quickly became a monumental achievement in Tamiya's rich R/C history and captured the hearts of R/C enthusiasts worldwide. Now, the Avante (2011) returns with a modern makeover, incorporating improvements and refined parts to meet current R/C standards.

High-Performance Racing 4WD Chassis

The Avante (2011) chassis is a shaft-driven 4WD design that features a longitudinally-placed motor, with a 2mm carbon fiber double-deck chassis for increased strength and reduced weight. The rear FRP damper stay has been upgraded to a 3.5mm carbon fiber piece for added durability. The 4WD system includes planetary front and rear differentials and a center ball differential setup for optimal power distribution.

Additionally, 23 ball bearings minimize friction, enhancing performance and efficiency. The gearboxes have convenient hatches for easy maintenance and gear inspection.

Suspension & Handling

The 4-wheel double wishbone suspension is retained, with metal threaded shafts and ball ends for precision tuning. The front aluminum knuckles improve steering accuracy while keeping the original design intact. Other features include:

  • Radius arm protectors to absorb shocks and protect the suspension
  • Cam-loc wheel caps that ensure secure wheel mounting
  • Die-cast front knuckles for enhanced stability and strength

User-Friendly Maintenance

One of the Avante's major advantages is the ease of maintenance. Both the front and rear gearboxes feature maintenance hatches, allowing quick and easy inspection of gears without needing to disassemble the entire chassis.
