This Hobbywing Xerun XR8 PRO G3 + 4268SD 2200KV G3 combo is made for serious 1/8 offroad and onroad racing where you want maximum power, precise control and lower temperatures – without carrying unnecessary weight.

The ESC has become both shorter and narrower than the previous XR8 Pro G2, and the motor is optimized in both efficiency and weight. Compact XR8 PRO G3 ESC – smaller size, greater capacity

The XR8 PRO G3 is approx. 15% smaller in footprint than its predecessor (1.3 mm shorter and 5.3 mm narrower), yet still delivers:

• Continuous current of 200A and peak up to 1080A
• Fully sensored operation for maximum response and control
• Support for 2–4S LiPo in this combo

The smaller size makes it easier to fit into tight 1/8 chassis, improves airflow and helps with weight distribution in the car.

Dual Brake Modes – traditional brake or “disc brake” feel

The XR8 PRO G3 has two different brake modes:

1. Closed-loop torque brake (disc brake mode)

• Provides linear and predictable braking force, independent of vehicle speed
• Mimics the feel of real disc brakes
• Option to adjust the brake force curve and distribution between front and rear

1. Traditional brake mode

• Retains the classic ESC brake feel
• Perfect if you are used to “old-school” brake characteristics and want to keep them

This lets you tailor the brakes precisely to your driving style and track surface.

Higher efficiency – up to 15 °C lower ESC temperature

The combination of improved hardware design and Hobbywing’s smart freewheeling technology provides:

Compared to the XR8 Pro G2, ESC temperature can be reduced by approx. 15 °C under heavy load, which increases reliability and service life.

Efficient and robust cooling – frameless fan + intelligent control

The ESC uses a frameless fan with special material in the fan blades:

• Less sensitive to small stones, sand and debris
• Longer lifespan and fewer failures

At the same time, it features intelligent fan start/stop:

• The fan does not run at low temperature
• Starts automatically when the ESC reaches a preset temperature
• Less noise, lower power consumption and better temperature control

Advanced Boost & Turbo Timing – up to 50% more top speed

The XR8 PRO G3 inherits Turbo Timing technology from the well-known XR10 Pro 1/10 ESCs:

• Supports up to 48° Boost and Turbo Timing
• Designed to deliver significantly more top speed and punch
• Provides up to approx. 50% higher top speed compared to previous G2 motors when everything is set up correctly

For maximum performance, it is recommended to use the ESC together with Hobbywing 4268/4274 G3 motors – which this combo does.

Built-in reverse polarity protection

The ESC has built-in reverse polarity protection:
