1/9 R/C Volkswagen Dune Beetle Cross (BB-02)

Tamiya 1/9 R/C Volkswagen Dune Beetle Cross (BB-02) is a self-assembly R/C kit inspired by classic Volkswagen Beetle offroad racers from American desert racing. The model is designed for driving on loose surfaces and combines the unmistakable Beetle style with a rear-wheel-drive BB-02 chassis.

The polycarbonate body features wide fenders, an open rear end and a race-focused appearance. Scale details such as roll cage, window net, fire extinguisher, exhaust, air cleaner, steering wheel, gear stick, driver figure and co-driver figure give the model a detailed offroad look.

The BB-02 chassis allows two front suspension setups: double trailing arms for stable driving on flatter gravel surfaces, or double wishbone arms for more advanced offroad driving and improved control over jumps. The sealed gearbox with built-in ball differential, protected drive shafts and adaptive oil dampers provide a capable platform for use on dirt, grass and asphalt.

The model is supplied as a kit and requires separate R/C equipment, servo, battery, charger, ESC, motor and polycarbonate spray paint. Type 540 and Sport-Tuned motors cannot be used; a Tamiya brushless motor is recommended.
