1/10 R/C Quirkhopper (GF-02)
Tamiya 1/10 R/C Quirkhopper (GF-02) is an R/C assembly kit with a distinctive character, combining a slim buggy body with large tires and a robust 4WD chassis. The model is based on the GF-02 platform, also known from the Squash Van, but Quirkhopper has its own insect-inspired appearance with a low, narrow profile, twin headlights, large side air intakes and an integrated rear wing.
The body is made from lightweight and rigid 0.7 mm polycarbonate and can be painted to your own preference. The included stickers feature blue graphic details and logos that work especially well with a dark or black paint scheme, while still leaving plenty of room for personal customization. This makes Quirkhopper a strong choice for builders looking for a different kind of Tamiya model and RC drivers who want a unique off-road look.
The GF-02 chassis uses a gear-driven 4WD layout with the motor mounted low and centrally in a lightweight yet durable monocoque frame. Power is transferred by gears to both the front and rear, while sealed gearboxes help protect the drivetrain from stones and dirt during off-road driving. The long wheelbase and wide tread support stable handling on rough surfaces.
The suspension setup uses 4-wheel double wishbone suspension with friction dampers, while the large 123 mm tires provide ground clearance, grip and a powerful stance. Front and rear gear differentials support smoother cornering, and the chassis can be further adjusted with optional pinion gears, sold separately.
The kit is supplied as a 1/10 scale R/C assembly model and includes a Tamiya/Hobbywing ESC. To complete the model, a 2-channel R/C system with one servo, transmitter batteries, a 7.2V battery pack with charger, and Tamiya Spray for Polycarbonate - PS Type are required.
