Hotrace Dæk Guide

When it comes to competitive Racing on the various tracks in Denmark, it is key to have the correct tire compound and pattern. In this sport, the tire is 80% of the car and therefore the key to getting the optimal lap time. Therefore, RCKongen has created a guide for you who are in doubt about what kind of pattern to use on the different courses. In this case, there will be a description of the tyre, which track the tire is intended for and which type of compound to purchase.

Miami

We start at the coarse end of the scale. Here we have the Miami tire, a completely unique tire made for loose surfaces. So if you are going out to drive on loose surface, you must get hold of this pattern. Its spread pattern allows the tire to work its way through the dust which allows you to get maximum grip on slippery surfaces, on top of that it gives you the longest durability of any tire for the purpose. This tire will typically be suitable for courses similar to Skive RC Center.

Compound: This is just as important as hitting the pattern right, so this is your golden opportunity to get it right with the compound. When it comes to geussing a compound correctly, it is important to look at the degrees, which is why we have created a scale below so you can see which compound you should use at the various times.

Miami Compound schedule:

0 ° - 10 ° = Soft

• 10 ° - 20 ° = Soft - Medium

• 20 ° - 30 ° = Medium

Sahara

The Sahara tire from Hotrace is a completely unique tire. This tire has probably been seen before from all sorts of other companies, but this is the original. It is clearly the most developed of the type and you can easily see where the idea comes from. The tire is so good that former world champion David Ronnefalk and double European champion Marcus Kærup choose to drive with this tyre.

This tire is specially designed for tracks like Hillerød HRCR. Completely smooth tracks with zero loose soil or dust.

Marcus Kærup, who drives for RCKongen, was in Hillerød earlier this year to drive a huge international race, the NXC.

Here he won by many seconds, using this tyre, in its clay version.

Compound description: We write the compound description here because there are 2 types of rubber for this tire. On the Hillerød track, Clay tires are used because the track is oiled. Hotrace has designed the clay version especially for these types of tracks. And the clay version for Hillerød is the popular choice.

However, you should not rule out the dirt compounds, they can also work, but then there must be minimal dust. This type of tire could, for example, be used on dustex tracks, such as Bjæverskov SOS, when the dust on the track has been completely removed.

Sahara Compound Scheme:

Oil lanes:

10 ° - 30 ° = Clay

Hard clay:

0 ° - 10 ° = Super soft

10 ° - 20 ° = Soft

 20 ° - 30 ° = Medium

 30 ° - 40 ° = Hard

Bangkok V2

This tire is suitable for irrigated soil, heavy soil. Bangkok comes free of heavy soil, with its unique little rubber pattern. this kind of tire will be a game changer on an old school dirt track. You would typically find that it is best on courses like Bjæverskov SOS, when the ground is still there.

Compound: For this type of tire, we only use the dirt track version. Therefore, we typically choose between supersoft, soft and medium. You typically choose slightly harder compounds if you have to drive long distances. If you want to be fast for the first 10 minutes, go with supersoft. If, on the other hand, you want to drive longer, you have to go up to something like soft / medium.

Bangkok V2 Compound Schedule:

0 ° - 10 ° = Super soft

10 ° - 20 ° = Soft - Medium

 20 ° - 30 ° = Medium

Amazonia

This tire is a very important one of its kind in the game. This tire can be a make it or break it. This tire can help you win, you just have to be ready at the right time. This pattern is typically used when the track is almost completely clean of dust.

Compound: This tire is very sensitive to which compound the user uses. You will typically choose soft to balance grip and rotation.

If you want a car that has more rotation, you should go with Supersoft . If, on the other hand, you want a car with grip at the rear, then you choose Medium. And then of course Soft if you want to balance the two things.

With this, it is difficult to make a schedule because it depends on driver preferences.

Atlaska

This tire is used when the track is hard packed and dusty. Its unique placement of the pattern minimizes the car slipping in the corners and on the gas.

Compound: We would recommend always using Soft compound. As it is always the fastest and works. If you have problems with tire wear because you drive for a long time, you should probably upgrade to something Medium .
